Tutoring Support Program
The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB), through the Ministry of Education’s Learning Recovery Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is funding the Tutoring Supports Program.
This in-person tutoring opportunity will provide postsecondary students and graduates with an opportunity to develop and enhance their educational experience by linking academic learning in a practical environment. The tutors will support HWCDSB students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 in literacy, numeracy, and foundational learning skills, by assisting in pre- and post- assessments and providing student supports as per students’ needs to assist in learning recovery, and/or assist with homework.
Training will be provided in this area. Tutoring opportunities are available during the school day from mid-April to the end of June 2022, and/or July-August 2022. Part-time tutors are also required.
Tutors will be asked their preference/area of expertise in terms of primary (K-Grade 3); junior (Grades 4-6); intermediate (Grades 7-8; Grades 9-10); senior (Grades 11-12+) and their work schedule preference (April-June, and/or July-August 2022, part-time/full-time).
